Searching for audio within a DVD

Postby PJWilson » 07 Feb 2006 16:22

My apologies in advance - I have no idea where to start looking for advice as to how to do this. If anyone can redirect me to a more appropriate forum I shall be most obliged.

I am trying to synchronise several DVD's to playback simultaneously. The DVD's are recordings of the same surgical procedure taken from multiple angles. Therefore, although the video content is different, the audio is identical, although the timelines of the DVD's are offset by several seconds to several minutes.

It is no problem to play the DVD's back with multiple instances of VLC. However, as the video is offset, I have to manually search through each one for audio cues so that I can line all the videos up at the same timepoint. Is there any way to search the audio of multiple video tracks so that the entire track can be aligned with another? Thanks.
