Is it possible to record native audio when screen recording?

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I did try looking through the wiki and the forums and just googling, but haven't found a clear answer to my question.

I'm trying to record my screen and also the audio coming from my computer (NOT input from a mic or other external source). I've not found a way to allow the recording to capture the native audio my computer is producing (for example, recording a video that has audio).

I'm using MacOS 10.15.7 Catalina and VLC 3.0.14 Vetinari. Thanks a bunch!
