Is it possible to open two Network Streams in VLC?

Postby johnkimon » 24 May 2021 18:38

I'm currently using VLC to play a continuous stream from a home security camera I've installed. I do this by opening Network and typing in the camera's URL address. I now want to instal a second camera and what I'm wondering is whether I can have two cameras/screens operating in VLC at the same time. So, if I open Network and put in the address for the second URL, will it simply override the first URL and disable the stream from that camera or will a second screen open up, allowing me to see both streams on my desktop?

Thanks in advance.

JK

I've done a little more research on this and what I'm asking is if I can open multiple RTSP streams in VLC? If there is a way to do this, I'd be grateful if someone could point it out to me.

Thanks

JK

For anyone else wanting to do the same thing I've been trying to do, I seem to have found the solution, using the method described here:
