New user question

Hello - I downloaded VLC 3.0.12 yesterday because I would like to listen to a radio station that streams on the Internet. I can listen now using my web browser but they said specifically I can also use VLC. This has appeal so I thought I would try it. I downloaded VLC and searched for hints as to how to this but nothing has worked. I don't know if this matters but I had to buy a subscription to the station. It could very well be I am doing something dumb so don't assume I know what I am doing. I would like to get this to work. The station's website said VLC would work and they have no support site so I thought I would start here.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Oh yes, I am trying to do this on an iMac running Mojave.
