Hi everyone,
I've tried to read the rules, read the sticky, the note about searching the forums before posting, etc. I did find a few posts in the Windows forum from 2013, which said the answer was to upgrade, I don't think that's the answer here as I'm on the latest 3.0.11.1, and on the macOS version, so I think I need help.
TL;DR is, as the subject says, some preferences aren't saving for me, it seems like most do, including all the ones you see in the "Basic" view. Examples of ones that don't save: VLC -> Preferences... -> Show All -> Playlist. In there, both "Repeat all" and "Repeat current item" cannot be checked - well, you can check them, and save, and it seems to save them (if you go back in the same session, they're saved), but once you quit VLC and re-launch, they're no-longer saved.
I have a new Mac (so no old prefs, no I did not restore from Time Machine), a freshly downloaded copy of VLC (again, version 3.0.11.1). I tried some troubleshooting first, like editing ~/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc/vlcrc by hand using pico at the Terminal, setting either value to a "1" and saving, and while that seems to save the vlcrc, when you open the app, the setting isn't preserved, and when you exit the app again and go back and look at the vlcrc, it has been set back to "0".
Not really sure what else to do here, hoping someone has a suggestion, or maybe this is a bug (but wanted to post here first).
Thank you!
PS - By the way, there is a broken link in the "READ FIRST: Forum information and rules" sticky (https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11216), the one that says "advisory on reporting issues" goes to a bad link (http://www.videolan.org/support/bug-reporting.html); I suspect it should be this now (https://wiki.videolan.org/Report_bugs)?
