Playlist Interface - Video Playback

Hi there, I wasn't sure where to ask this but...

I must be misremembering this, but I'm pretty sure I recall a time where with VLC you can view videos inside the playlist. Like the video would not go to a separate window, but it would play inside the playlist on the lower left hand side (thumbnail size) at one point. Am I mistaken or was this not a thing? If so, how can I re-enable that type of playback?
