VLC doesn't appear to work on current OS Macs. (Mackbook Pro Mid 2012)

I have ran some tests and VLC works perfectly on Windows OS with no noticeable issues but when using Mac, everything struggles. Current OS is 10.15.1 I think earlier versions from 10.13 beyond might work (maybe 10.14 but IDK) but the VLC is not compatible with newer OS systems for Mac. I needed to report this but I don't think/know VLC will be able to fix this. I've tried other software but they seem to crash.

VLC is compatible with new macs.

Would you be so kind and more closely describe why you believe its not?
