Set Default PREVIEW option of Get Info

Hi... I have manage to set the "open with" to default to vlc but however

The preview option doesn't seem to let me set vlc or any program. It automatically tries to open the file with it appears quicktime but since it can't play divx type avi files it keeps trying to load.

I'm using mac ox 10.4.4. I've searched the forum and havn't found the answer yet.

There is no browser-plugin of VLC yet, that's why it can't be used within the finder's preview-feature either.
Regrettably, I don't think that this will be supported soon, since this is probably a closed system which can't be expanded by 3rd party apps that easily.

I read somewhere there's a setting to change preview options so it was the reason I'm asking. I appreciate your excellent explanation and sad to hear it won't be supported.
