Adding to playlist from the command line?

VLC 2.x.x used to have the option --playlist-enqueue to add a file to the existing VLC playlist. The current VLC 3.0.8 seems not to have this option anymore... Thus, the question: is it possible to add a file (or an URL) to the current VLC playlist from the command line?
