VLC on OSX delay of sound with .mkv etc.

Postby ghk » 04 Jul 2019 01:43

Hi guys,

I see this has been an issue with previous versions of VLC. I am using Yosemite 10.10.5 (I know, an old one, but still top for my Air). Now for quite a long I am having it - with .mkv files and with .vob files, sometimes with other files, I cant say exactly, but it is quite annoying - the video starts normally and in a while the audio dissassociates with the video. Moreover it happens when there is a container with multiple audio files. Seriously this is driving me mad. Updating to the latest -> no luck, several times. Read a bunch of articles about it - telling me to use the hotkeys for syncing - doesn't work, guys! With Kodi it goes well, but it lacks the UI. I've been using the VLC player for more than 10 years now and being content. Not cool. Please, help!

Thanks for the effort of bringing this fine product for free!

have you tried uninstalling it all together? Then restarting and reinstalling? Sounds like a plist or preference getting corrupted. Could also try one of the beta builds.

no luck with all new versions. actually this started like 2 years ago after updating. now i just downgraded to 2.2.8 and all seems pretty fine. i hope there will be some solution to this issue in the future versions.

What about using something like app uninstall or similar toremoveitcompletely then reinstalling a newer version.
