How to Change Title in Version 3.0.7.1

Postby jhundley16 » 27 Jun 2019 18:20

Hi,
Sometimes a video will have a title that isn't correct (like My Movie). In older versions of VLC, I could right click on the title and make changes to it. I don't see that option anymore. All I see when I right click on the title is Play, Delete, Select All, Expand All, Collapse All, Reveal in Finder and Add File. I want to say the option that I used to use was something like Metadata, though I could be wrong about that.

Does anyone know how I can change the title of videos within VLC?

Thanks!

Ok, I found how to change the title. If I go to the Window tab and choose Media Information, I have the option to change the title. However, ever time I have tried to do this, I get an error saying VLC was unable to save the meta data. No idea why it's saying that. Any suggestions?

Has there ever been an answer to this question?

Brand recognition is what brought me back to VLC player recently. Which is extremely important for the success of a product, if you ask me.

I am going to rant here, but if you have an answer to the question then please skip to the last sentence. Or even send me a message here please! lol. .....

So - I found myself downloading VLC player on my newest MacBook computer here so I can use the software to allow me to download YouTube videos as well as other videos I come across on the internet that I know MUST be saved on my hard drive in the event that videos go missing off of the servers that I originally came across them at.

This is an extremely extremely EXTREMELY important area in our internet lives that should not be overlooked. As a society, everyone should not take YouTube, or instagram, or Facebook, or twitter, or WHEREVER their favorite un-copyrighted movies FOR GRANTED!!!!!

THE POWERS THAT BE ARE ON A PROPAGANDA SPREE NOW MORE THEN EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE INTERNET HAS COME AROUND AND HAS TURNED EVERY SINGLE HUMAN THAT HAS A CELL PHONE INTO A MOVIE PRODUCER. IN ORDER FOR TPTB (THE POWERS THAT BE) TO BE SUCCESSFUL THEY WILL NEED TO CONTROL ALL OF THE MEDIA THAT IS CURRENTLY OUT THERE. THEY WILL DO IT BY ANY MEANS, AND THIS IS NOT JUST LIMITED TO GOVERNMENT FORCES. IN FACT IT IS MOSTLY THE PRIVATE CORPORATIONS THAT ARE COMPLICIT IN THESE CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AS WELL.

lol.... ok end of that rant.... and on to my question....

HOW DO I CHANGE THE NAME OF THESE FILES I DOWNLOAD? I need them to be changed from "230482305820efj203idf2034" to " building collapses in New York City" so that when I look for them later on in life, it is much easier to do so.

THANKS, and hopefully this makes sense here. I am extremely tired and it is way past my bed time but I gave this my all. I never sign up for websites just to ask questions but in this case I found it necessary. In fact, the developers of this program should start focusing a lot more on what I just talked about and they should figure out a way to improve it here and then advertise and market VLC player a lot more for that purpose. There is going to be an influx of people attempting to save videos before they go down the rabbit hole. THANKS!

ALSO, how would one go about exporting these files? I honestly cannot even figure out where the files I have now are located in my computer. The VLC player doesn't spell things out in layman's terms for idiots like myself. doing a whole computer search for "230482305820efj203idf2034" doesn't yield me any results. I just want to make sure I am not wasting my time with VLC player if it doesn't even have the ability to do the basics.
