Dolby Digital Plus help needed please

Postby yerthejudge » 18 May 2019 23:26

Hey all,

I'm having trouble getting my receiver to pick up DDP 5.1, though it can play DTS, TrueHD and regular dolby digital 5.1 no problem.

I am using the latest VLC 3.0.6 on a MacBook pro running Sierra 10.12.6.

I connect the HDMI out using a high speed cable to a Pioneer Elite VSX-30

I enable HDMI encoded output to play movie files and it has no problem picking up DTS or normal Dolby Digital.

However, I've been saving my movies that I save as Dolby Digital PLUS audio do not work, even thought the receiver supports it.
I've been going through the receiver manual and everything seems correct.

Any advice on enabling or forcing this audio out in VLC setting or any other advice.

Thank you so very much
