video quality when using VLC render option

Postby Mac_and_dac » 15 Dec 2018 00:49

Hi,

I'm casting Youtube videos via VLC to my TV, which has a Chromecast plugged into one of the HDMI slot.

Everything works fine; however the video quality is rather blocky, as if the video has defaulted to 144 resolution.

Is there any solution for this?

(I know that I could use Google Chrome to cast and get much higher video quality, however I have chosen to use VLC because its features help me solve a video/audio sync problem I have in my set-up.)

Thanks in advance
