I wouldn't want to press too much, but I also get some troubles with the metadata:
The metadata of audio files go wrong on my French VLC version. When I press "CMD + i", a pop up windows displays on the screen the "Méta-données" (Metadata) with a "Général" tab displaying the boxes "Titre" (title of the track) , "Artiste", "Date", "Album" (title of the album), etc. BUT:
Trouble 1. I can only get this Metadata window for the audio track I am listening to and not for the ones queuing in the playlist (OK it's a minor trouble).
Trouble 2. Usually, I fill in the boxes, then I close the window, and the data are displayed in the respective columns of the VLC panel. But if I re-open the pop up windows, fill in another data (say the "Genre" box which I had skipped) or change a data and then close the window, nothing changes in the VLC panel columns (no genre, no change in the name of the artist. And if I re-open the Metadata window, it doesn't display the metadata I have previously filled in.
Trouble 3. usually, I fill in the metadata boxes, then I close the window, and the data are displayed in the respective columns of the VLC playlist. But, too often, the "Album title" is displayed in the Genre column, the "Genre" appears in the "Artist" column, etc.
Trouble 4. After closing a Meta-data window, the VLC palylist panel is dispayed, but the width of each column has changed, so I must rearrange them all as the "Date" colum is suddenly very large while the "Title" column is just not wide enough to display more than 3 or 4 characters of the title. (I'm running VLC 3.0.4 [French version] on Mac OSX 10.11.6. MacBook?? Pro Retina, 15 inches, mid-2015, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7. display: Intel Iris Pro 1536 Mo).
Troubles 2 and 3 occur with different formats (m4a, mpeg AAC…).
Then eventually I can't change the metadata iTunes had created
