Issue with 0.8.4a with HDTV

Running on a dual 1.25Ghz G4 running 10.4.2 Playing a 1080i mpeg 2 film and on vlc 0.8.2 the image is clean (but shows the 7 pixels of grey at the bottom), on 0.8.4a I dont see the grey bar at the bottom (even if I dissable the HDTV aspect correction) but I do get strange video glitches, like one block of 16 (or however many) pixels not resolving properly. Just occurs sometimes but I get dancing errors on the screen. Not bad or all the time but noticable. Same images are clean on the old version. Ideas? sorry if this is the wrong place to post this
