Some videos (interlaced H.264?) showing up mostly green since VLC-3.0.0-20170421-0445

Hi,

When I was looking for videos triggering a flickering issue I was experiencing, I came across a couple that on my system display mostly in green since VLC-3.0.0-20170421-0445.

Steps to reproduce: Expected result: The video should play with normal colours.

Actual result: The video is mostly green.

Both video streams are interlaced H.264 content (no further samples with this property have been tested).[1] The self-built release that seems to trigger the issue is 2.2.0-git-12277-g6c4fb66184 (commit 6c4fb6618432051b126d9b6b60b2cef4046280d0). VLC on Windows running inside a VirtualBox instance does not seem to have this problem; other systems are untested.

Is anybody else experiencing this? Cheers.

[1] According to ffprobe the video streams are “h264 (Baseline), yuv420p(tv, bt709, top first), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 50 fps, 50 tbr, 1k tbn, 50 tbc (default)” and “h264 (High), yuv420p(tv, bt709, top first), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 1k tbn, 59.94 tbc (default)”.

They do look familiar. When I saw the ticket's description (Videotoolbox-related) I tried hardware-disabled playback (using “VLC -vvv --codec="avcodec,none"” as you suggested to me with the flickering issue) and the video played fine; that would also explain why I am not seeing the problem on other systems while using Virtualbox (no hw decoder modules are matched). Thanks for noticing the similarities and cross-linking this thread and the ticket.
