Problem: No DTS DVD playback

Postby f0xmuld3r » 09 Dec 2005 10:22

I have a problem playing a DVD that has a DTS only track: I don't get any sound (and just now it even crashed, which it hasn't done before).

The movie plays just fine both on PC (PowerDVD) and standalone player (Pioneer). There is no menu on the DVD and it's 4.3gb.

Here is more info:

Powerbook G4, model 5,4
1.5ghz, 786mb ram
Mac OSX 10.4.3
VLC Version 0.8.4
Quicktime 7.0.3

We had to remove the VLC's DTS decoder for legal reasons. You can only forward the DTS-track to another external hardware receiver using the S/PDIF-output to hear it.
The last version of VLC, which includes that decoder, is 0.7.2.

You should make a fork of VLC that keeps all the nice stuff you can't include due to legal reasons.
I can do it in a few years when I have learned to programm if noone has done it by then.

right, and this makes things for us less problematic legally speaking......

How exactly ????

Better become a lawyer and find sponsor to help us on the lawsuits.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
