Preferences file

Postby socrates81 » 24 Sep 2016 14:57

Hi,
I downloaded a preference file from a friend, but I can't find where they kept on Mac.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

VLC preferences are stored in ~/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc (.plist for some UI specific settings, and the folder for vlc specific settings). The Library folder is hidden nowadays, you can open it with the "Goto Folder" feature (cmd + Shift + g) in finder. Hope this helps.

On my system that file only contains the names of some files that have been played, NOT settings.
I just posted a topic about a security risk in that file. https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=135914

Settings are are stored right next to it in a folder named org.videolan.vlc, and the file itself is /Users/xxx/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc/vlcrc.

No, not all of them. As I already wrote to you in the other thread.
