Dolby Surround with VLC ?

Postby dandu » 14 May 2015 12:32

Is this a way to decode Dolby Surround audio with VLC ?

I have many Laserdisc rip with Dolby Surround (matrix encoded surround into stereo) and VLC can't decode it, bu i have seen option about Dolby Surround in the preferences.

I have tested with a sound card with 3 output and Mac OS X configured to use it (it works with discrete surround, like AC3 or DTS) but with Dolby Surround (i mean it's Pro Logic, in my case), i have no sound on rear speaker. It works if i connect the Mac to a decoder with S/PDIF.

VLC should be able to decode Dolby Surround, we have a filter for that. Can you share such file?
