How can I revert to VLC 2.1.6 from the archived zip available?

My query is in the title : How can I revert to VLC 2.1.6 from the archived zip available :
http://ftp.videolan.org/vlc/2.1.6/
What do I have to do with the files I obtain so as to have a nice coned application?

There is no mac binary for 2.1.6. You should use 2.2 if possible.

Too bad, I wanted to revert to 2.1.6 because the snapshots were not damaged anamorphically… I will wait for a future 2.2.1 which will solve this issue
