White Screen in OS 10.6.8 all of a sudden

All my videos still play with MPlayer. However, VLC is my "Go To" app and all of a sudden I am just seeing a white screen but getting audio. I've replaced all my codecs and VLC. I've run disc warrior on the Disc. I've deleted the preferences. Can anybody help?

Do a clean install of VLC. Remove it using an app like appcleaner and install the latest stable version.

ii did that. I used Appzapper to remove the o;ld and then installed the newest version that my Older mac mini would take, 2.0.10.. I still got a white screen.

2.0.10 is not at all the newest version, in fact it is totally old. We are already at 2.1.5.

My older Mac mini Intel won't take anything newer.

Can you get the picture back by unchecking the "adjust image" button in the Video Effects screen, Basic tab? That helps in version 2.1.5.
