Version 2.1.5 FluidSynth Support

Postby rwb » 03 Aug 2014 04:03

VLC was updated to Version 2.1.5 recently, and it has no support for FluidSynth. My usual course of action, when this happens with new releases, is to either revert to an earlier build, or else to look at the nightlies. Nightly builds are not accessible at present, and I gather that this is down to a persistent server reliability problem.

In the light of this, can anyone confirm that SF2 support will be returned in a forthcoming build of VLC, please? Some estimate about when this functionality will be re-instated would also be helpful, although I appreciate that this might be a difficult question to answer! I'm looking forward to it's return, because it's very useful for reviewing MIDI files when arranging for band organ.

Thanks.

UPDATE.

The nightlies are back tonight. Thanks for re-instating FluidSynth support in 3.0.0-git, team.

It's good to see that the playback progress bar is now working when playing MIDI files. Nice one!
