VLC on iPhone 3GS: cannot play divx

Dear all;
I just installed VLC for the iPhone but it won't play any divx. The video doesn't start at all. If you skip to the middle of the movie nothing happens and the screen stays black. I tried first with a 720p and I got a warning saying that my iphone wasn't powerful enough. I then tried with a regular file but, as I said, it didn't work nor I got any warning. Is it just me or it happens to everybody on this model of iPhone?

Running the latest version of iOS.

Please share the file. But yes, the 3GS is very very slow...

I don't think I can share the file actually …

I'll try with another one ASAP but I remember the first version of VLC that was distributed through the apple store to play movies without any issue on the same cellphone… Also, I have absolutely no problem with the built in video app (in this case i convert the movies with handbrake first…)

Just tried another divx with no luck. Besides VLC cashes/gets stuck. After closing it I got the "play" symbol close to my battery indicator and if I accessed the opened apps bar and swiped to the left, the ipod icon had been replaced by the VLC icon.

Was it tested on older iPhones models or was it tested on the latest models only?

Am I the only one to have this issue or is it something known?
