How do you set the calibration?

How do you set the calibration?
Just set color profile (in system preferences>monitor>color) after creating profile in i1 profiler.
How did I create profile? - Buy x-rite i1 display colorimeter, install x-rite app that was with that dev, restart system, launch profiler, set gamma, temperature, lightness settings, put device on display and wait about 7 minutes.
I can select a factory profile instead of profile that I made with i1 display pro calibrator. The result will be identic of factory profile. I always have over saturated colors in vlc.

Probably VLC does not follow the profile, and that is the reason.

Yeah, that's a known issue. VLC does not support ColorSync (see ticket 2925).

Are there any plans to implement the ColorSync support?

This is a quite big problem for me. QuickTime does not play well 4k material (100Mbps), but it does show correct colors. VLC plays the videos smoothly, but the colors are over-saturated.

Nothing.
left to Gentoo Linux and win7. use media player classic+cccp. mpc can use windows color management etc.
OS X is very proprietary one.

I wonder why there ain't more hustle around this? I would think that ability to display correct colors is a quite important feature for a video player. Correct me if I am missing something here :)

In "Apple word" is ... :)
There is such a thing as the "proper/right formats of video" in "Apple word". who have standards. The mpeg 1/2 (h263), h264, aac, mp3 are right streams and mp4, mpeg, mov are right containers.
Ogg, ogm sterams and mkv, avi, wmv containers are considered as not right ones.

vlc, mplayer, ffmpeg etc can read it but in Apple that players are considered as not "right" too )))
There are not one of that players can't work with colorsync. I see it that apple close their code of colorsync. People who write vlc etc can't make api that will be make a normal work their app with colorsync.

Proprietary closed source of a lot of OS X code. Proprietary politics and in iOS. People pay money out of the blue.
I, that watch some (mkv etc) video, must buy a right device!!! (TV!!!) or go to cinema. This is "Apple word" philosophy.
See at quicktime x player. This is the misery. A brake terrible one.

To be fair, the issue is not that ColorSync support is not possible. It's that nobody ever implemented, because it is hard to do in an OpenGL rendering context. This is also true for supposedly open platforms such as Linux or BSD.

can be use 3d lut tables. as in davinci resolve.
I do so.
3d lut tables can be created in agryl app.
You place your color profile and smpte profile and get 3d lut. And place it in program who can work with 3d lut.
