VLC Webplugin

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum so I apologize if this question has been answered already. But here it goes, I am running Mac OSX (10.8.3). I installed the VLC web plugin and I cannot seem to get it work. I have gone to different website which have avi files embedded in them and it does not play the file Is this normal? I want to avoid installing the Divx Web player software because it is "heavy". Any help would be appreciated; thank you in advance.

is the Divx Web player really a lot heavier than the VLC plugin? I havent noticed anything... ?

Well no I guess but I would like to avoid installing two different programs that do the same thing, is all.

Ah ok.

Does this problem occur with all browsers, safari, firefox, chrome?

I have not checked the other browsers; I just have safari.
