Cue File Problems, First Song in list is duplicated

Postby Panicman » 15 Apr 2013 04:24

Mac Pro 2008, OSX 10.6.8, VLC 2.0.5
- When adding a cue to VLC, the song list initially includes all the songs, but the first song is listed twice. As VLC plays, and goes through the songs in the playlist, it replaces the current song name with the first name or with the album title. So when I load the cue, I see all song titles (first one twice), but when it plays songs it renames them all to the first song on the list. Then I have no clue what song is what.

I've opened up cue's in Audirvana with no problem, so I'm not sure how to fix. Thanks

Which version are you using? If you go under Settings and look at Track/Album information, there should be a box to check to lock song data. If you do that, however, you won't be able to update the name of the song in the future.

Hope that helps,

I have had the same problem for years, now on 3.0.2 on OSX 10.11.6. I can't even find any setting to fix this, but it shouldn't be like this by default?
More specifically it's not the first song, rather the album name (TITLE, under PERFORMER) that replaces all played and current playing TITLE names under each TRACK from the cue in the playlist.

In my case VLC replaces track name within album name (same for next played track).
Root of issue is: played flack file contains IDv3 tags (in fields name and album was the title of album).
I deleted this info and VLC stopped changing names and track titles displayed as it is stored in cue file.
I hope it helps

Yes, this has always been the case with VLC
