just a quick question, how do i make my vlc player the default player? i'm sick of my original ibook programs popping up everytime i insert a disc!

please help, and i accept any open mocking. this must sound like a ridiculous question to most.

CDs/DVDs defaults are set in System Preferences under the CDs/DVDs setting. File types have to be set one by one (ie. once for each file type).

Select the file to be changed, and press Apple+i (or File-->Get Info in Finder). Choose "Open With" and select VLC. Then click the "Change All" button.

Easy once you know.
