Error/Crash after August Security Update

After installing the August Security Update provided by Apple (Version 1.1, 64bit bug fixed) VLC crashes after starting the application causing an error in core components ...

Anyone else having the problem? Any sugestions?

Mac OS 10.4.2 with August Security Update, german Version
current VLC version

I'm currently installing that update of the update and will have a look at that later today.

Problem solved by deleting the preferences in the library-folder ;-)

this is happening to me to (i start up VLC and it closes automatically.) What exactly do i have to delete in the library now?

You need to delete both org.videolan.vlc.plist and the VLC-folder.
