Yes.I'm no authority, but here's a couple of tests that came to mind to try to see where things may be failing. When you click do you see the buttons depress?
yes tooltips show up.When you hover over a button does a tooltip appear within a few seconds? What type of mouse are you using? 3rd party driver? Trackpad? Any possibly unique settings for your mouse?
yes, have tried them. nothing works.Sounds like clicks in the preferences are working, right? Try deselecting "Show video within the main window" to see if either controls in the resulting 2 windows begin working at that point. Does the Dark or Bright style make a difference? Requires a VLC restart to apply.
yes.If you press Command-E or Shift-Command-E, do clicks work in those floating panels?
yes.Does clicking on playlist items work? How about right-clicking on a playlist item for the contextual menu?
Yeah, thank you for your tips and help, they are the only help we've got on this issue!Weird stuff going on for some. Like I said, try the maintenance things above along with deleting the VLC preferences with the script that comes in the Goodies folder on the install dmg to see if it helps. At minimum it'll at least rule some more things out.
I also run 10.7.3 on my iMac and I have none of these issues. Maybe if there were a few more mentions of hardware that people are using, a trend may be found there.
Ultimately I can't fix your issue since I'm not a VLC developer, but I can help narrow down things through troubleshooting.
AWESOME!!! Everything works perfectly!!! I owe you my life good ser.I had the same issues of controls not working and crashes on quit until I unchecked the "Mac OS X interface" checkbox under Preferences - Show all - Interface - Main Interface
