Lion + Apple Remote => Display stays in standby

Postby Infinite » 15 Aug 2011 17:12

Hi there,

it seems like in Lion, the Remote doesn't wake displays from standby.
I guess that's in order to play music without the screen brightening the whole room...
well whatever...

When you start a movie in VLC,
pause the movie, wait till the displays go to sleep
and press play on the remote again,
the displays stay in standby-mode but the playback continues.

Meaning you have to move the mouse or press a button on the keyboard to wake them again.
Bad for remote users ;)

Do you experience the same issue when using iTunes or DVD Player in fullscreen mode?

Ok, just tested it once again
(MacBook Pro)

- Itunes Music: Remote keeps displays in Standby
- Itunes Video: Remote wakes displays from Standby
- Quicktime: Remote wakes displays from Standby
- DVD Player: Not tested
- VLC: Remote keeps displays in Standby (<- should wake them)
