Marquee STILL does not work on mac?

Postby pkiula » 07 Jun 2011 21:15

Hi. All I want is for subtitles to have a semi-translucent black background which Windows version of VLC has had for ages. Is this still not possible to have this on Mac, after all the "significant interface updates for OSX"? What updates? This has been one of the most requested features here on these forums, and still no bite?

Or maybe I'm missing something. I see Marquee in the settings, but enabling it and restarting still doesn't show the black bars.

Would appreciate any pointers. Thx!

Marquee is a text rendering filter, which allows you to display custom text within the video. It's not related to subtitles.

The black bordering isn't supported on Mac OS X at the moment and I don't know when it will be implemented. Note that subtitle rendering isn't part of the Mac interface. Once we fix it, there will be a news item explicitly stating it.
