Start More Then one instance

does anyone know how to start more then one instance of vlc i remember how to do it in windows but there dosn't seem to be an option to do it in macosx

By design apps don't launch multiple times on the Mac side since the apps are supposed to support opening more than one document at a time which VLC for some reason cannot.

One way to work around it is to make a copy of the VLC application and then you can run both at the same time and play 2 videos at the same time, but I don't know that it's really worth the effort. If you want to do side by side comparisons you can just use Quicktime with Perian and Flip4mac installed for most of the VLC codecs.
