Very Large Subtitles in MKV file

Hello,

I am having a problem watching one of my weekly stories. It is an MKV file, and contains what I think is an SSA subtitle stream. But the subtitles are VERY BIG! The line "P-Picolo-san, why did you save me?" appears on three lines, that take up about half of my vertical space.

I just upgraded from .9.8 to .9.9a, since I read of similar issues in .9.8 on Ubuntu's bugtracker, and hoped for the best. No luck though.

Any suggestions?
