Resize issue (Mac only)

Postby ea6651 » 14 Jun 2009 07:28

I just upgraded from 0.8.6c to 0.9.9a on my Mac. My issue: 0.8.6. allowed me to freely resize the window by just dragging the corner. When the new window size did not match the aspect ratio any longer, it added black bars left and right, which was just fine with me. No longer in 0.9.9a - when you drag the lower right corner, it stays attached to the aspect ratio of the movie. This makes playback of movies in iPhone size (480x320) nearly unwatchable. Is there a setting in VLC or VLC's preferences that can be changed to re-enable "free form" window sizing?

Amazingly, it's enabled on Windows (0.9.8a). Why not on the Mac?

This is such an important issue that I will go back and stay on 0.8.6c if this cannot be fixed.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

In 1.0.0 there will be an option in the "Aspect ratio" menu to unlock/lock freeform resizing.

Great - many thanks. Once 1.0.0 is out, I'll upgrade. Right now, I'm back to 0.8.6
