Locked Window Ratio

Postby weilawei » 02 Feb 2009 05:14

I recently reinstalled OS X and VLC and noticed something odd. No longer can I freely resize the window--it's locked to the aspect ratio of the video I'm watching. I want to be able to drag the corner and resize the window to any size I wish, with black bars added as necessary. What do I need to do? I've tried trashing my preferences, even checked with AppZapper to make sure I got all the files (and noticed I missed one the first time, tried again, and it still didn't resolve my issue.)

For the record, I'm running OS X 10.5.6 and VLC 0.9.8 on an Intel-based Macbook.

This is not cool. I just got a new Mac Pro Nehalem (OS X 10.5.6) and loaded VLC 0.9.8. I'm experiencing the same 4:3 window issue, regardless of source material aspect ratio or crop. I'm running VLC 0.8.6 on my Macbook Pro (also OS X 10.5.6) and everything is great. I'm going to revert the new system to the old build until you guys figure this out new "feature."
