Blocky xvid/avi - why do they look better on my pc?

Postby Schweiz » 19 Oct 2008 03:47

These videos look much blockier on my Macbook Pro (8600M GT / 2.5 GHz) than they do on my PC laptop. The Macbook has better specs than my PC laptop in every respect. I am comparing the same videos back to back and playing them on the same 24" external monitor.

I am new to OS X, so please be patient. If there is more information about my settings that I need to provide I would be happy to do so.

I'm curious. I was connecting my old pc to the monitor with vga. The new mac is connected with DVI. Could this have any negative affect on the picture quality?

Yes, it's the DVI? Or something to do with the Mac?

Well, I returned the Mac. This problem occurred with both low and high bitrate files, on all players. It seems to be an unresolved Mac issue...
