Same here using 2.2 GHz MBP. It works a hell of a lot better than quicktime though..I can't get this video to play smoothly in my 2.4 ghz macbook pro with 0.86h

Quicktime plays it without stutter, but obviously dropping frames. VLC plays it fluently for a while and then pauses for a few seconds and continues, pauses, continues etc.
Hmmm, well.. When dropping frames, at least you see the whole video.. VLC pauses for around 5-8 seconds: that's 8 seconds of video you won't be seeing..
