VLC 0.8.6i: No more TV after 10 seconds streaming.

Hello,
sorry but I experienced the same problem than in the 0.8.6.h version; refer to my topic
"VLC 0.8.6h: No more TV after 10 seconds streaming.".
Consequently I maintained the installed version 0.8.6f that runs fine.

Description:
The TV stream stops after ~10 seconds whatever the freebox TV channel on both
iMac Intel 24" 3Ghz (early 2008) last generation and PowerBook G4 1,5Ghz with MacOSX 10.5.4.

From the launching of VLC up to the blocking situation, messages in the system.log are

Quitting VLC terminates with:

Je confirme pour la version PowerPC, c'est le même problème que la version 0.8.6h et ceci même avec la vraie version 0.8.6i (jusqu'au 15 juillet le DMG de la version 0.8.6i pour PowerPC contenait la version 0.8.6h !!!).

Par contre, pour moi, sur un Mac Intel (Mac Mini sous Mac OS X 10.4.11) la version 0.8.6i fonctionne correctement avec le multiposte de Free.

D'autres personnes pour confirmer ?

I just spent an hour checking and comparing streams between both PowerBookG4 and iMac Intel.
And I confirm what SPa (thanks to him) wrote; the problem occurs on PowerPC ONLY.

same pb here, ibook G4 1.33GHz, it started with 0.8.6i (ppc), streaming stops after 15s. The following appears in the console after 2s of streaming (multiposte freebox):

pour moi powerbook pro 2,4 avec 10.5.4 que ce soit avec vlc 8 f ou 8 i j'ai bien le streaming sur free, pas de blocage.
Mais il est impossible d'enregistrer plus que 7,8 megas ....
par contre j'ai toujours ce message

quelqu'un a t'il une solution ?
j'utilise macfreetv , c'est pareil avec imagneto

Bonjour, et bienvenu sur les forums VLC.

Comme vous le dites vous même, votre problème n'est pas le même. Un problème différent implique un nouveau fil par politesse et pour ne pas polluer le fil existant.

Ceci dit:

1) C'est normal que vous n'ayez pas de freeze après 10 secondes car ce problème n'existait pas avec vlc 0.8.6f et a été corrigé dans la version 0.8.6i version Intel. Or, le bug persiste pour les macs PPC.

2) Le message

indique que VLC n'a pas pu trouver le flux 204 de la freebox (correspondant à Arte). Le problème ne viens pas, a priori, de VLC, mais d'un problème (momentané) de diffusion chez Free. Essayez de visualiser la chaîne en direct sur VLC et non pas avec macfreetv. Essayer de redémarrer la Freebox. Essayez avec une autre chaîne.
