1. The sample rate of the songs i am playing are 22050Hz. And you're right, the equalizer setting does work with 44.1KHz. But can we expect a compatibility with songs with different sample rates?

You can expect the compatibility with different sample rates, but regrettably it isn't there. AFAIK, this won't be supported by VLC 0.9.0 either. But I'll file a ticket for this issue so we don't forget about it...

i am trying this pre release, i watch allot of those shoutcast TV streams. now after the server changes movies VLC crashes, before it would do that video stretching thing to the video after a wile after the server would change videos. i would post a crashlog, but VLC is saying it sees no previous trace of a crash. i know it crashed cause after it did i got the Apple crash reporter. yes i deleted the prefs before i ran this pre release using the script and looking for them manualy.

@ Roland21: Because the subtitles are currently rendered at movie resolution. Thus, if your movie is only 300*200 px in size, the subs are going to be pretty ugly. That's gonna change for 0.9.0, but can't be backported for 0.8.6d.

Fkuehne, sorry it took me so long to reply. But I've seen the redraw problem several times since then, so I know it's not a fluke. To answer your question:

I did it just now by watching a video in Normal Size and switching to Half Size using the keyboard shortcut Cmd-0. I've also seen it on other size transitions (full to normal, mostly). I'm running an Intel MacBook Pro 17" (the 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo -- Model Identifier "MacBookPro3,1"). It's got the 1920x1200 LCD with the GeForce 8600M GT. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.1 (9B18).

Fkuehne, when you mentioned resizing the video window with the corner handle, that got me thinking. I'm dragging around the resize handle and I think I see what the problem is. You appear to be drawing an opaque white rectangle of fixed size on top of the status area but under the video area. When the video area is larger than the white rectangle, the status area is drawn correctly. When the video is resized to be smaller than the white rectangle, the status area is partially or completely overwritten with the white rectangle.

However, it is *very* difficult to reproduce. I just restarted VLC and now I can't reproduce it, even after going fullscreen, changing size multiple times, forwarding to the next video in the playlist...

It makes me wonder if there's some sort of resource leak somewhere. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Hi guys, I am back to Tiger from Leopard, because I use massively my MacBook for HD content playback (MKV files). I had more less all bugs you reported here. Now I just found out that running the VLC .86d prerelease version I have still one bug left (actually present with 0.86b and 0.86c as well): when I open mkv files doubleclicking them, VLC crashes. If I open the application first and then open the files, it plays back even x264+DTS encoded MKV containers perfectly (unlike under Leopard).
I have the latest 10.4.11 Tiger update installed.

i haven't ran VLC enough to have it crash on me yet (running a video stream) to show the crash log. it seems like the redraw bug hasn't appeared yet (could be fixed), but the weird video stretching still happens. now it seems worse then what it was (could be because of the video i was watching).

1) embed, it funktion whith 2 Objekt, but more then 2 i become this mistake " 0x77c17740 verweist auf speicher in "0x00000000" der vorgang "read" konnte nihct auf dem speicher " (in Germany) and first Video is dark, no video. Only 1 Objekt it funktion very well.

2) Wenn i doppelcklick on video, video is away. I must minimize the IE, than doppelcklick than become i fullscreen.

Anybody have same problem. I need this objekt because, i have got 10 IP Cams. (RTSP://<IP>:554/live.sdp ) it funktion with VLC Palyer very well, but not with html plugins.

Hi,
ever since I updated to Leopard, VLC produces stutters ranging from 1 to 5 seconds about every 20 seconds. I have tried every setting available (Hurry Up even makes the picture freeze quite often while audio continues) and although my Powerbook has only 800MHz, CPU usage is never above 40%, so it can't be my machine that is too slow. The new release of VLC didn't really help much. Is there any way to award VLC more CPU power or a higher priority? I feel like it's not aggressive enough. Other players like Quicktime or Cellulo don't stutter, but they don't play every format and are not as nice to use.
Can anybody help me out?

i'm experiencing almost the same problem with VLC.. while playing AVI files, every once in a while (couple of minutes) the playback (both audio and video) stutters for a split second..

When I try to watch video files, avi, mkv and so on the picture wont come up on the screen. Its just a black screen all the time. The audio is the but no video. Im not very good with computers and software, so I cant fix it by my self, I need some help! Anyone knows what to do?
