Disk Images of PPC Nightlies cannot be opened

I am unable to open the disk images of the latest nightlies.
Disk image mounter claims "no filesystem detected"

Are these images defective or in a format that only can be opened with OS X 10.4?

I am running 10.3.9 and never had this problem with VLC nightlies before.

Is VLC going to be 10.4 only?

Yes and No:

The disk-images are apparently broken (can't open them on 10.4 either) and need fixing (hopefully done in a few minutes).

However, VLC's next release 0.9.0 is to be 10.4 and 10.5 only. VLC 0.8.6c is going to be the last version for 10.3.9. We have to move on with development and are required to use functionality only available on these versions of OSX. Since only about 15% of all OSX users are still on 10.3 and security support for it is to-be-discontinued this autumn, we decided to do this step.

Maybe it´s time to make a backup and continue with the 10.4 Upgrade DVD that shipped with my Mac.

Sure. 10.4 is a lot nicer than 10.3, especially because of Dashboard and Spotlight

Did anyone notice that there hasn't been a PPC nightly posted since the 28th of last month?
