Setting Video Output Device as Default

Postby kas1118 » 03 Sep 2007 23:36

Every time I use VLC I watch the video on my second "monitor" (a tv hooked up to my computer). However, every time I start a movie I have to go to Video > Video Device > Screen 2. The default is set as Screen 1 but I can't figure out how to change it to screen 2. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Easy way is to have the playlist on the external monitor, and leave the default. For some reason, VLC accepts the display with the playlist/transport controls showing as the default monitor. I got it to work in the preferences once, but VLC doesn't really like its preference files.
