convert mp4 to aac

I used Handbrake to convert a DVD to mp4 format. Now I would like to convert that file to AAC audio so I can put it on iTunes and my iPod. Is this possible? I tried using the 'Streaming/Export Wizard' with the following settings.
Transcode/Save to file <next>
Select a Stream (mp4 file selected) <next>
Transcode Audio is checked with MPEG 4 Audio and bitrate 192 <next>
MPEG4/MP4 <next>
Select the file to save (chose desktop) <next>
Click Finish

There is no choice for AAC or AIFF. After this conversion took place, I imported to iTunes, and it went into the Movies section of Library and it played with video. I only want the audio portion. Is what I want to do possible?

you can see AAC in its profile list picture, and it could convert mp4 to aac.
