Symbolic link can't be opened from file browser

Postby vinc17 » 18 Aug 2007 02:36

With VLC 0.8.6c under Mac OS X 10.4.10, I wanted to open an XSPF playlist. So I chose "File → Open File", then "Browse...". Here's the problem: the "Open" button can be clicked on for any file, except a symbolic link ("Open" is grayed out). However, if I click on "Cancel" and type the name of the symbolic link (at the left of "Browse..."), the playlist can be opened as expected.

I'll investigate this. Thanks for the hint!

Sorry, I cannot reproduce your problem, neither with the current development code nor with VLC 0.8.6c. I'll keep an eye on that though ;)

Though I could always reproduce the problem on this symbolic link, I couldn't reproduce it on other symbolic links, and when I now try again on the original symbolic link, I can't reproduce the problem any longer, though I didn't change this symbolic link. The next time such a problem occurs, I should do a ktrace...
