no sout access module matched "shout"?

Postby dombrowsky » 29 Apr 2007 21:55

I'm trying to get VLC to connect to an icecast server. From the looks of other posts on the subject, this should be possible only from the command line using something like this:

Code: Select all

./VLC -vv dshow://dshow-adev="" :sout="#transcode{acodec=spx,ab=8,channels=2 }:duplicate{dst=std{access=shout,mux=ogg,dst=source:hackme@192.168.1.6:8000/audio.ogg}}"
I ran that line, as is, just to see what would happen. It looks like my syntax is correct, but it can't find the "shout" module.

this is from the latest OSX build 0.8.6a. Does this version simply not support shoutcast?

run vlc -l | grep shout to see if you have access_output_shout

if not: configure vlc with it and install it again.
