Set default audio delay

Postby appear » 26 Apr 2014 13:55

Hello

I have a mac mini connected to a TV via HDMI, and sound coming out through a external soundcard.

That causes a 300ms delay which I have to adjust each time I shut down VLC.

Is there any way to adjust VLC to always (/default) have a 300ms delay when the app is launched?

Thanks!

Hi,

Is your sound card directly attached to the mac? Then, please try a 2.2 nightly build, where we added support for audio devices which report high latency. Maybe you do not need to manually specify such a delay after this change.

I'm having the same issue but I have to set it to -2000 milliseconds. I updated to the latest version but then I got massive stuttering problems viewing *.mkv files. I tried a handful of things but none worked so I deleted the new version from my Mac and reverted to version 2.1.5, which works perfectly. Except for the delay. Thankfully, aggressively and repeatedly hitting the "F" key is an easy temporary fix. :D
