VoD ingestion perfomance & CPU, Memory utilizations

Postby ravi_andhra » 09 Feb 2009 10:22

Hi all,
I am using VLC-0.9.8a as VoD server.
I am facing following issues while ingestion of video into VoD server.

1. While ingestion of 100 videos into VoD Server using VLM script the CPU utilization is going 50% and it is getting hanged there itself even after successful ingestion of all the videos. The CPU usage is not coming down even the no streams/ingestion kind of activities were happening on VoD server end. Can anyone help me to resolve the issue?
2. The memory usage shown against VLC process is 0.8% but the observed used memory of the whole system is going to 100% i.e., 2GB which is 500MB before ingestion of video. So, I want to know what the set of activities are that VLC is doing at the time of ingestion of video and where the whole memory is getting consumed.

*All the above observations were taken on the server where no other process is running.

Thanks in advance,
Ravinder
