Question on VLM

Postby Videoman » 03 Feb 2006 17:09

In the chapter 5 (Multiple streaming and Video on demand) of VideoLAN Streaming Howto manual, I followed the steps to launch the Telnet Interface.

1) Select "Settings" on tools bar
2) Select Add Interface and then Telnet Interface

And then, nothing happen.

I want to use VLM to control multiple streaming.

Are there any steps missing or did I do something wrong?

Thanks

you then need to connect using a telnet utility to localhost:4212 . You could also try downloading a nightly build from http://nightlies.videolan.org and use the new VLM http interface which is quite good (well ... since i wrote it i think that it is ... bug comments are of course welcome). Just launch the http interface as you would launch the telnet interface and connect to http://localhost:8080/vlm.html or http://localhost:8081/vlm.html using your favorite web browser.
