vlm http stream does not work

Postby seerjo » 14 Nov 2020 21:04

Hello guys.
i am new to VLC. I was able to stream from rtsp input and http as destination, using vlc stream
used for source - "rtsp://root:password@172.21.251.3/onvif-media/media.amp?profile=profile_1_h264&sessiontimeout=60&streamtype=unicast"
for destination - :sout=#transcode{vcodec=theo,vb=300,fps=10,scale=Auto,width=640,height=480,acodec=none,scodec=none}:http{mux=ogg,dst=:8080/ashcam1/}
so far vlc stream works, but vlm does not, though i use the same configuration while using vlm.
what do i miss ? looking forward for your advice
Tnx a lot in advance !
N.B. I use GUI console , not the telnet , if it's relevant for the discussion.

i also tried using telnet interface and created a stream using these commands.

new cam1 broadcast enabled
setup cam1 input "rtsp://root:pmypassword@172.21.251.3/onvif-media/media.amp?profile=profile_1_h264&sessiontimeout=60&streamtype=unicast"
setup cam1 output #transcode{vcodec=theo,vb=300,fps=10,scale=Auto,width=640,height=480,acodec=none,scodec=none}:http{mux=ogg,dst=:8080/ashcam1/}:sout-all:sout-keep

but still , when i try to reach the stream with http i receive white browser windows that only says - VLC
Video
Play VLC

But as mentioned earlier - it works when i use vlc single stream (not vlm)
