how to use vlc in telnet mode

i have start vlc with the following command line
vlc.exe -I rc --rc-host="127.0.0.1:3333" --rc-quiet
and then i telnet 127.0.0.1 3333
successful!
then i input help
i can see very few command
then i look the longhelp
the command still to few
is there any way to use telnet mode to set the vlc transcode a file and output it as a http or mms stream?thank you very much.

you should give the telnet (not rc) interface a try. Please have a look at chapter 05 in the streaming howto for more info: http://www.videolan.org/doc/
