Stream playlist and then switch to network stream.

First, I'm sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. Here's the question:
I'm trying to stream a playlist on VLC (which is working nicely) and then switch it to a webcam.
Here's the layout:
Webcam->Laptop->across the internet->computer on my home network->webpage with plugin embedded
Is there a simple way to access the VLC streaming computer on my home network (possibly by enabling web interface?) and have the computer switch from the playlist to the network stream coming from the laptop?(in a way so that the webpage plugin doesn't stop playing) I'm new with VLC so I appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
